PECO employees believe strongly in community involvement and in using our time, talents and dollars to assist organizations that serve others. As a long-term resident of inner Southeast Portland, PECO formally supports three organizations providing diverse and complimentary services to those in need in Portland and throughout the State of Oregon. Through direct monetary contributions and encouraging employee volunteerism, PECO lends itself to these valuable community service organizations. Portland Impact seeks to help people achieve and maintain self-sufficiency and to prevent and alleviate the effects of poverty. This work is done through five, broad, community services: 
The Oregon Food Bank offers food and educational programs to those in need “To eliminate hunger and its root causes … because no one should be hungry.”
Portland Habitat for Humanity has a simple mission: build a “community where everyone has a simple, decent, affordable place to live; and where poverty is unacceptable.” Habitat accomplishes this by building homes through the use of volunteers and the future home owner. |
