PECO encourages employees to participate in community inprovement. Practically since the company's inception, PECO workers have volunteered their time and talents through organizations that work for community greater good. Today, PECO formally supports three organizations that provide for those in need throughout the State of Oregon. They are; Impact NORTHWEST , Oregon Food Bank and Portland Habitat for Humanity.

Impact NORTHWEST seeks to help people achieve and maintain self-suffi ciency and to prevent or alleviate the effects of poverty. This work is done through fi ve, broad, community services; Safety Net Services, Education Support Service, Community Involvement Services, Employment Support Services and Seniors & Adults with Disabilities Services.

Oregon Food Bank offers food and educational programs to those in need "to eliminate hunger and its root causes... because no one should be hungry."

Portland Habitat for Humanity helps to build a "community where everyone has a simple, decent, affordable place to live; and where poverty is unacceptable." They accomplish this by building homes with mostly volunteer labor.
